Liposuction for Men Dr. David P. Rapaport is among the busiest and most experienced experts in liposuction for men in the state. He uses the gold standard tumescent technique for all procedures in liposuction. He additionally employs ultrasound-assisted and power-assisted liposuction methods in appropriate cases. He skillfully combines liposuction with male breast reduction procedures to achieve stunning results for his patients. It's no wonder that the city's top surgeons named him one of the city's "sharpest new talents" in the October 6, 2003, edition of New York Magazine. Gynecomastia and Male Breast Reduction Gynecomastia is a condition in which excess fat and glandular tissue on a man's chest give him the appearance of having small (or sometimes large) breasts. Dr. Rapaport has been treating this for years. His use of ultrasound-assisted liposuction has greatly improved the quality of male breast reduction results he is able to achieve. Because fatty deposits in the male breast are typically very dense and mixed with breast tissue, ultrasound-assisted liposuction allows for much greater fatty tissue removal while maintaining small, discreet liposuction incisions. His expertise in the use of ultrasound-assisted liposuction has been featured on a New York Channel 4 program Extra in which one of his male patients detailed how the procedure had improved the overall quality of his life. Treatment for gynecomastia can be a real life changer. If you would like more information, please contact us .
Liposuction for Men In addition to treatment of gynecomastia, Dr. Rapaport performs liposuction to effectively reduce excess fat content in the lower flanks (also known as love handles), the lower abdomen, the chest, and the neck. Love handle reduction is a relatively simple procedure that usually requires very small incisions and a quick recovery period. Moreover, loose skin is rarely a problem following this treatment since the skin on this area tends to redrape nicely. Abdominal liposuction is also quite effective at eliminating excess fat. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the procedure alone will not tighten the skin. It can only remove fat between skin and muscle and cannot remove excess fat deep inside the abdomen. Dr. Rapaport, when necessary, employs ultrasound-assisted liposuction (UAL) procedures. He was one of the first American surgeons to use UAL after its introduction in 1996 and he has performed hundreds of UAL surgeries since. Ultrasound is particularly useful in liposuction for men where fatty stores are more dense and fibrous, as is often the case with the male abdomen and love handles. He believes in individualizing modalities for each patient. Therefore, he also incorporates power-assisted liposuction when appropriate to the case.
